Kristin Liu, P.D. is the co-principal investigator of TIES Center. In this role, she addresses policies and practices that support inclusive learning environments for students with significant cognitive disabilities. She is also Assistant Director of NCEO, and co-PI for the Improving Instruction of English Learners Through Accessibility Decision Making project. Her research and technical assistance focuses on improving academic expectations and outcomes of students from special populations, including English learners, students with disabilities, and, her particular area of expertise, is English learners with disabilities. Her work also addresses the inclusion of students with special needs in accountability assessments at the local and state levels.
